Local use

Tally Pocket stores entries, accounts, categories, description suggestions and preferences on your device. No server address is preconfigured. Local-only entries are not sent to a server. The app includes no advertising or analytics service.

Optional server connection

If you enter a server URL and sign in, the app communicates with that ezbookkeeping server over HTTPS. Authentication details are sent to sign in. Financial entries, descriptions, account/category identifiers and any attached location are sent for synchronization. The server returns account information and transaction history for storage on your device. The server operator controls retention and may record connection information such as your IP address; consult that operator's policy.

Your password is not saved by Tally Pocket. Session credentials are kept in secure device storage. Signing out removes the saved session, but keeps cached records in their separate profile. Existing local-only records are not migrated to a connected profile.

Optional location

Location is requested when you tap Here or enable automatic location. It is attached to entries you save and, for connected profiles, sent with those entries to your chosen server. You can disable automatic location in Settings and revoke permission in system settings. Existing saved locations are not removed by revoking permission.

Retention and removal

Records remain in the app's local database. Removing the app removes its local app data; operating-system backups may retain copies according to your device settings. Sign out before removing the app to clear saved session credentials. Removing the app does not delete records or backups held by your server operator. Contact that operator to request deletion of server data. Tally Pocket currently has no in-app record deletion or export feature.
